Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM Training

When you’ve put so much into creating your amazing new intelligent business system, it rather defeats the object if staff don't feel comfortable using it. A surprisingly large amount of software implementations fail because of poor user adoption. Findings laid out in a large scale Forrester report stated that 22% of pitfalls faced in process and technology projects are related to “people issues”. 49% of that being slow user adoption and 36% inadequate attention paid to change management and training.

Our training packages help you though the challenging stages of introducing something new to staff who may be a little daunted or reluctant to leave the old behind and step outside their comfort zone into the new. We know it’s not always comfortable but we are here to make it as easy as possible.

Supporting training materials are supplied at differing levels of complexity, for the different types and levels of CRM roles you would like to train for. Choose from User training, Administrator training, Configuration training or Developer solution training.

Do you know what to look out for when onboarding your teams? See our tips on user adoption, getting staff to use your new systems comfortably, efficiently and consistently.

All training packages offer:

  • Yearly refreshers with 10% discount on 3 year contracts
  • A choice of online or onsite training
  • Training documentation
  • Train the trainer available at an extra cost

Glossary of terms

User Adoption

Also known as onboarding. Getting staff buy-in, giving them the training, confidence and knowledge they need to feel willing and able to use new software.

Back End Customisation

Adding extra functionality outside of the software with code. Could include a bolt-on, add-on or plugin. Part of back end development.

Back End Development

Designing sophisticated code that allows for extensive changes or improvements to functionality. Is used in sophisticated back end customisation.

Front End Configuration

Using tools built into the system to carry out customisations to forms, fields, and reports, to maximise your use of the software

Third Party App Training

Training provided for applications published by 3rd-parties (e.g. MailChimp, Xero etc.)

Super User

System user or guardian within your organisation who has a good understanding of the software. These people are ideal for Administration training sessions.

End User Training

User training is essential for successful user adoption sometimes known as onboarding. It is the training required to understand how to use the system on a daily basis.

It gives users the confidence to use a new or improved system in the way you require it to be used.

This level of training aims to educate end users in the basic features of the system. It focuses on performing tasks in relation to their roles, with introductions in:

  • System navigation
  • How to input data such as customers
  • Using filters and views
  • Producing reports
  • Any other front end functions your system has been set up to perform

All our training sessions include standard training documentation for off the shelf functionality but not back end customised solution features.

User training caters for end-users who will be using the basic features of the system on a daily basis but do not need to know how to trouble shoot or change the settings of the system. For this level of capability ether Administrator, Configuration or Developer Training options are required.

Works well for organisations who:

Require as a pre-requisite to other training packages

Who have some or no experience with the system

Need to know how to use the system to perform daily tasks

End User Training Cost: Monthly training packages are available at £675 per day plus expenses

Administrator Training

Administrator Training is for the slightly more involved user or system guardian. It is the recommended level of training for your assigned super users.

A preferred prerequisite to this level is the end users training but it is not essential. Administrator training touches on the basics of end user functions but is intended only as an elementary summary.

The advantage of this training is that it gives your more advanced users the ability to make changes to the system on top of knowing how to use it.

A set up overview is included, which covers:

  • User setup
  • Data management and best practices
  • Advanced finds
  • Mail integration
  • Template configuration

Standard training documentation for off the shelf functionality as well as any customised solution features we have created for you are included.

Not covered is the technical level training needed for trouble shooting or making changes to the settings of the system. 3rd party application training is also not included in ether the admin or user training. For these abilities you would require Configuration Training or Developer Training.

Works well for organisations who:

Have already completed the End User Training

Would like trained super users

Have higher level users, system guardians or IT Administrators

Administrator Training Cost: Monthly training packages are available at £675 per day plus expenses

Configuration Training

Configuration training is best suited to individuals in IT/Technical level roles, however it could suit a tech savvy system guardian or super user.

This level of training aims to teach individuals the basics on how to navigate and use your system every day, make standard changes to the system but also provide them with the ability to tackle trouble shooting or to make changes to the settings of the system themselves.

Configuration is a large part of what we do with our systems that stands us apart from the rest. It’s the hidden third way of customising a system with more economy and speed. Read more about the truth about customisation in our article.

Configuration training includes:

  • Creation of entities
  • Customisation of forms
  • Adding fields and managing data relationships
  • Creation of business rules
  • Building dashboards

3rd party application training is also included in this level where the end user and administration training packages do not.

Trainees at this level must have completed the Administrator Training before they start Configuration Training.

Works well for organisations who:

Have already completed the Administrator Training

Have in-house database/system administrators

Have in-house individuals in IT or business system technical roles

Configuration Training Cost: Monthly training packages are available at £750 per day plus expenses

Developer Training

Developer Training is for those who are already proficient in .NET stack development, and provides an introduction into Dynamics 365 system design and best practices for coding and deployment.

It is ideal for systems specialists who wish to conduct reporting, integration, or development work within their Dynamics 365 environments.

Both front end configuration and back end customisation is included but with no basic user instructions.

This is advanced hands-on training, and developing on the .NET platform with Dynamics 365.

Developer training includes:

  • 3rd party application training
  • Custom report building
  • JavaScript functions and event handlers
  • C# plugins, custom workflows and Azure function apps
  • Creation and management of web portals

Works well for organisations who:

Have individuals proficient in .NET stack

Have developers or business system specialist

Have in-house database/system administrators

Developer Training Cost: Monthly training packages are available at £750 per day plus expenses
