A report that surveyed 850 NonProfit professionals (most of who were directly involved with their charities fundraising) has been released about the sectors use of AI.
Of the 850 people surveyed, the report showed around 57% were now using AI in some way in relation to their role but that almost all were still just in the early stages of implementing it into their day-to-day.
70% reported they used AI for drafting copy, 44% were using it to create social media content but only 10% were using it for predictive analytics.
The survey also found:
- NonProfit workers regularly using AI were 42% more likely to report their charities fundraising had increased, compared to the 31% who never used AI, a difference of 11%.
- Those that were using AI were much more likely to rank the digital maturity of their NonProfit higher than those who were not.
- 46% of respondents reported positive feelings towards increasing influence of AI within their roles.
- 27% felt neither positive or negative when asked the same question.
- 69% of participants reported their NfP didn’t have the resources to explore the benefits of AI. However, only 8% reported it was a priority to address that issue.
On a more worrying note, the survey also found:
- 78% of respondents worried about AI causing misinformation about their chosen cause.
- 62% had data security concerns.
- 56% were concerned about the reputational risk of something going wrong with AI.
- And 51% were worried about inherent biases in AI modelling that could affect them without their knowledge.
However, 60% of the participants all agreed that improved data management would bring the biggest benefit to their current fundraising strategies.
