Microsoft Announces End Of Support for Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation (D365 PSA)

Microsoft first announced they’d be ending support for Dynamics 365 Project Service Automation on commercial cloud back in March 2024.

As a reminder, come March 31st, 2025, Microsoft won’t be supporting PSA on commercial cloud environments.

That means there wont be any feature enhancements, any updates, any bug fixes. There’ll be no more updates at all for this product.

Microsoft are strongly recommending anyone still using it to reach out to their favourite Microsoft partner ASAP to start planning the upgrade process to Project Operations.

That upgrade would come with lots of new features, including:

  • Integration with Project for the Web with many new advanced scheduling features
  • Project Budgeting and Time-phased forecasting
  • Date Effective price overrides
  • Revision and Activation on Quotes
  • Material usage recording in projects and tasks
  • Subcontract Management
  • Advances and Retained-based contracts
  • Contract not-to-exceed
  • Task and Progress based billing
  • Multi-customer contracts
  • AI and Copilot based experiences.

Project Operations was first released as the upgrade to Project service Automation in October of 2020, capable of managing projects from inception, right through to close, backed by the Dataverse, Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management.
