Microsoft’s Power BI has been named a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Business Intelligence Platforms, Q2 2025, recognised for top-tier generative AI and comprehensive enterprise capabilities.

Microsoft’s Power BI has once again been recognised as a Leader in The Forrester Wave: Business Intelligence Platforms, Q2 2025.

This recognition reflects their ongoing commitment to innovation, customer success and empowering organisations through data.

 

In this latest report, Microsoft earned the highest score among all vendors in the generative AI functionality criteria and received the highest possible score in 17 additional categories.

 

Forrester praised their strategic direction, highlighting Microsoft’s “consistent investment in innovation and its strong partner ecosystem” as key drivers of broad platform adoption.

 

On capabilities, the report stated: “Power BI fulfills almost any enterprise BI requirement.”

 

Microsoft’s leadership position is further reinforced by exciting developments showcased at the recent Microsoft Fabric Community Conference in Las Vegas.

More than 6,000 data professionals were there as they introduced powerful new features in Power BI.

Highlights included the ability to create Direct Lake semantic models from Power BI Desktop, data point annotations in the PowerPoint add-in, seamless access to Azure Analysis Services migration tools and instant Copilot-generated summaries from Microsoft Teams messages.

They also unveiled enhancements to the new visual card and many other capabilities aimed at enriching the user experience.

 

These advancements reflect Microsoft’s drive to make business intelligence more intuitive, collaborative, and impactful.
