Little Princess Trust Grant Management

Using a solution built upon Microsoft Dynamics Customer Engagement and the Power Platform, Little Princess Trust can improve their grant management by recording and managing project grants from application through to award and monitoring project outcomes.

The Little Princess Trust partnered with Formus Pro to enhance their project grant management by adopting Dynamics 365 and the Microsoft Power Platform. Key improvements include better data security, automated workflows, enhanced reporting, and streamlined communication. The solution also lays the groundwork for future advancements, such as tracking how donations are used, allowing the charity to operate more efficiently while continuing their mission to support young people and fund childhood cancer research.

Dynamics 365

Dynamics 365 has provided a guided, secure, streamlined process for managing project grants.

Grant management

Microsoft Power Platform tools have automated previously manual aspects of their process.

Benefits

Better relationship building and communication post-funding, with increased reporting capabilities.

Objective:

The Little Princess Trust aimed to enhance their digital capabilities to manage their project grant processes more effectively. The objective was to centralise and secure their grant data while improving visibility, collaboration, and reporting capabilities.

The Problem:

The pain points in this digital transformation were primarily centred on outdated manual processes.

Their existing processes were spreadsheet-based, leading to inconsistent data formats, security risks, and siloed information across the organisation.

Solution:

As part of a broader digital transformation delivered by Formus Pro, The Little Princess Trust transitioned their project grant processes to Dynamics 365. This move increased data security, ensured information was accessible where needed, and enhanced reporting capabilities.

Utilising Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement enabled the charity to consolidate all grant-related communications in one place, ensuring no steps in the process were missed. Business process flows and automations built using Microsoft Power Platform tools standardised the process—from receiving applications through review and approval stages to managing active project grants and tracking progress.

Additionally, SharePoint integration allowed the organisation to centralise and securely store essential grant-related files, making them easier to organise and access.

Impact:

The adoption of Dynamics 365 significantly improved The Little Princess Trust’s operational efficiency and data management. Key outcomes included:

  • Enhanced Data Security: Critical grant information is now securely stored and accessible only to authorised personnel.
  • Improved Process Consistency: Automated workflows ensure a consistent, step-by-step approach to managing grant applications and tracking project progress.
  • Centralised Communication: All grant-related communication is recorded in one place, reducing errors and improving collaboration.
  • Better Reporting and Visibility: The new system provides improved reporting capabilities, enabling more informed decision-making.
  • Streamlined File Management: SharePoint integration allows secure, organised storage of important documents, making them easier to access and manage.

This digital transformation has empowered The Little Princess Trust to manage their grant processes more effectively, ensuring greater accuracy, security, and efficiency in supporting their mission to help young people and fund vital research into childhood cancers.

Continuous Improvement:

The solution has opened opportunity to further develop their grant management in the future to potentially track where donations are going.
