1. Commitment to Achieving Net Zero by 2050
FormusPro is committed to achieving Net Zero emissions by 2050, in alignment with UK Government requirements under PPN 06/21 and the Climate Change Act 2008. This commitment applies to all UK operations and covers Scope 1, Scope 2, and mandated Scope 3 emissions categories.
2. Baseline Emissions Footprint (Estimated – First Reporting Year)
This represents FormusPro’s first formal carbon baseline. As noted in PPN 006 guidance, if no prior reporting exists, suppliers may establish a new baseline year and provide estimates until measured data becomes available.
Baseline Year: 2026
Methodology:
- Operational control boundary
- SME Carbon Calculator proxies for home working, commuting, and business travel
- No manufacturing or logistics operations
Baseline Emissions (Estimated)
| Scope | Source | Baseline Emissions (tCO₂e) |
| Scope 1 | Direct fuel combustion – FormusPro has a company fleet of EV vehicles with the exception of 1 diesel van and 3 hybrids. Emissions are estimated using UK Government GHG conversion factors and reflect the current fleet composition. | 5.9 tCO₂e |
| Scope 2 | Purchased electricity for small leased office space | 4.2 tCO₂e |
| Scope 3 (mandatory subsets) | — | — |
| Business Travel | Estimated 10,000 annual miles (car + rail) | 6.9 tCO₂e |
| Employee Commuting | Hybrid workforce (approx. 75 employees) | 20.4 tCO₂e |
| Home Working | Based on Carbon Trust methodology | 9.3 tCO₂e |
| Upstream Transportation/Distribution | Not applicable—no physical goods | 0 tCO₂e |
| Waste | Shared office facility | 0.6 tCO₂e |
| Total Baseline Emissions | — | 47.3 tCO₂e |
3. Current Reporting Year Emissions (2026 Same as Baseline)
Because 2026 is FormusPro’s first measured reporting year, baseline and current emissions are identical.
4. Emissions Reduction Targets
FormusPro commits to the following reductions:
Short‑Term (by 2030)
- Reduce absolute Scope 1 & 2 emissions by 50%
- Reduce business‑travel emissions by 40%
- Reduce employee‑commuting emissions by 35%
Long‑Term (by 2050)
- Achieve Net Zero across Scope 1, 2, and mandatory Scope 3 categories.
5. Carbon Reduction Measures (Existing & Planned)
Aligned with the PPN 006 Technical Standard requirements for outlining environmental management actions.
Already Implemented
- Hybrid working policy reducing commuting frequency
- EV‑friendly travel policy (incentivised mileage rate for EVs)
- Recycling and waste‑segregation at office
- Cloud‑based infrastructure to minimise on‑premises hardware footprint
- Remote‑first delivery models reducing travel to client sites
Planned (2026–2030)
- Switch all electricity contracts to 100% renewable tariffs
- Undertake full measured carbon footprint using accredited tool
- Replace all grey fleet mileage with EV usage wherever possible
- Implement a Sustainable Business Travel Policy (flight minimisation, remote client engagement)
- Introduce supplier screening for sustainability alignment
- Publish annual carbon reporting and update CRP yearly as required
6. Explanation of Data Gaps (Required by Template)
PPN 06/21 permits the use of estimation where measurement is not yet feasible, provided the reason is clearly explained.
FormusPro is in the process of adopting formal carbon measurement tools. Actual energy‑metered office data, precise commuting surveys, and travel logs will be collected during 2026 to refine future reporting.
7. Environmental Management Measures
These measures are consistent with PPN requirements that environmental practices must apply to delivery of contracts.
- Formal Environmental Policy (already in place)
- Adoption of simplified ISO‑14001‑aligned processes ahead of certification
- Sustainable procurement guidelines for hardware and partner services
- Lifecycle extension practices for IT equipment
- Mandatory sustainability induction for all staff
- Quarterly environmental performance reviews
8. Declaration & Sign‑Off
This Carbon Reduction Plan is approved by the Board of Directors and will be reviewed annually.
This Carbon Reduction Plan is published on the FormusPro website and applies to all UK operations.
