No. Although we have a ready built module specifically for Higher Education, FlexPortal is designed to be adapted for other organisations, combining reusable features with customisation to suit your needs.
FormusPro’s FlexPortal helps organisations launch connected websites and web applications faster with self-service portals, forms, payments, case management and Dynamics 365 integration built in.
FlexPortal is a modular portal and web application framework designed to help organisations launch secure, connected digital services faster.
Built independently rather than on Microsoft Power Pages licensing models, FlexPortal combines public-facing websites, self-service portals, application journeys, payments, user management and Dynamics 365 integration into a single flexible platform.
Whether you need a customer portal, member hub, training application site, event registration platform, case management front end or a completely bespoke digital experience, FlexPortal provides the foundations to build it without starting from scratch every time.
Looking to launch a customer portal, digital application process or self-service web platform without the cost and complexity of building everything from the ground up?
FormusPro can help you design, implement and integrate FlexPortal around your organisation’s processes, users and systems.
One of the biggest challenges organisations face with portal and web application projects is time.
Teams often spend months rebuilding common functionality before they can even begin focusing on the experience that makes their organisation unique. User registration, authentication, forms, payments, profiles, dashboards and integrations all need designing, securing and testing before a project can go live.
FlexPortal changes that approach.
FlexPortal provides a library of modular, reusable components that can be combined into tailored digital experiences far more quickly than traditional bespoke development approaches.
That means organisations can launch portals, services and applications faster whilst still retaining flexibility over branding, workflows and user experience.
Typical use cases include:
Many organisations want modern self-service experiences but struggle with the cost of fully bespoke web development or the licensing complexity of some low-code portal platforms.
FlexPortal was designed specifically to provide a middle ground.
Because the platform is entirely independent, organisations aren’t tied into the licensing structure of Power Pages or similar products. That creates significant cost advantages for organisations expecting larger user volumes, public access requirements or complex external engagement scenarios.
At the same time, FlexPortal still supports deep integration with the wider Microsoft ecosystem including Dynamics 365, Azure services and Microsoft identity management.
The result is a platform that balances speed, flexibility and long-term scalability without forcing organisations into unnecessary rebuilds or restrictive architectures later.
Modern users expect digital experiences that are simple, fast and intuitive.
They want to register online, manage their own information, track progress, make payments, access support resources and interact with organisations without needing emails or phone calls for every step. FlexPortal supports all of that through configurable self-service journeys built around different user types and access models.
For example, an individual user might:
Whilst an organisational user could:
Because the platform is modular, these experiences can be adapted to different sectors and operational models without rebuilding the core platform each time.
Many organisations already use Dynamics 365 internally but struggle to expose processes externally in a clean, user-friendly way.
FlexPortal helps bridge that gap.
The platform includes ready-to-use integration capability for the Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement suite, allowing external interactions to connect directly into CRM, case management, marketing, events or operational processes.
That means information submitted through the portal can flow directly into existing business systems rather than being manually rekeyed or managed across disconnected spreadsheets and inboxes.
Examples include:
This creates a more connected experience for both users and internal teams whilst improving reporting, governance and operational visibility.
Portal projects often become difficult to maintain after launch, especially when every change requires developer support.
FlexPortal includes built-in CMS capability designed to reduce that dependency.
Content owners can manage pages, FAQs, support resources and portal content themselves whilst retaining consistent branding and governance controls.
The platform also supports flexible hosting approaches including:
Combined with flexible identity management options including Azure Entra External ID and Microsoft-based authentication, organisations can scale FlexPortal around their operational, security and governance requirements.
FlexPortal combines modular portal capability with integration, workflow and self-service functionality designed for real operational use cases.
Key features include:
Support for public users, authenticated users, individual accounts and organisation-based access models with Microsoft and Azure identity integration options.

We first embarked on a digital transformation journey with Anthony Nolan back in 2012. With a range of implementations and solutions over the years, this transformation is constantly evolving.
Anthony Nolan wanted to move their Dynamics 2016 On-Premise solution into Dynamics 365 Online. This would mean less reliance on internal servers to maintain and run the platform. They would also benefit from the Microsoft Update process, continuously making new features available.
