Five years from today, as of 30th of September 2029, Microsoft will no longer support or offer any updates for dynamics GP. They’ll also cease any and all security patches for the product as of 30th April 2031.
With the news, Microsoft released a statement of support to the wider GP community, stating:
We want to take a moment to express our heartfelt gratitude to our loyal GP customers. Your trust and collaboration have been essential to building an incredibly strong GP community! We’re dedicated to supporting your ongoing businesses and success during this transition.
Dynamics 365 Business Central is Microsoft’s flagship SMB, ERP product, which they’ve optimised since it’s launch, to help organisations from all sectors and sizes grow and scale and it’s D365 BC that Microsoft are encouraging all GP practices to start migrating too.
As part of their statement, Microsoft acknowledged that “change can be challenging and transitioning from a familiar system to a new one requires careful planning and support.”
They’re encouraging and GP practice currently on Dynamics GP to reach out to Microsoft Partners (cough, like ourselves, cough), to help guide them through that migration process.
