Local NonProfit Taps Into Growing National Trend To Open 2nd Hand Department Store

Sheffield NonProfit St Luke’s hospice taps into the growing second-hand market with the opening of its largest pre-loved department store, supporting terminally ill adults and their families.

A Sheffield-based NonProfit hospice has just announced plans to launch a giant department store in Sheffield this month, in what they’ve described as their “most ambitious project to date”.

The hospice, St Luke’s, based in Sheffield, supports adults with terminal illnesses, as well as their families, will open the department store on the 30th Sep.

The store itself will be 790m2 (8,500ft2).

It can be found at Kilner Way Retail Park, Wadsley Bridge in Sheffield, selling a huge variety of second-hand goods, with the goal to become a “go-to destination for everything pre-loved”.

As well as the large store front, the location also has 650m2 (7,000ft2) of warehouse space in its rear to act as a hub for donations.

 

This department store, run by st Lukes seeks to tap into the growing UK market of second-hand goods, expected to grow by 127% over the next two years.

Kilner Way will have its own unique look and feel, providing the perfect setting for the range that has been hand-picked by the St Luke’s retail team from our thousands of donations. The store will meet the rising demand for cost-conscious shopping and high-quality pre-loved goods by selling a full range of eco-conscious items. We’ll be covering everything from contemporary and vintage fashion to occasion wear – departments will include clothing, furniture, books and records.”
